US warned to beware terror incidents overseas

Al-Qaeda has made another threat toward the US.
The head of al-Qaeda's Yemen cell, in an Internet statement, has called for new attacks on US interests.
Said al-Shihri made the audio statement to say attacks should be launched against American interests everywhere.
The al-Qaeda official, a former inmate at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, said Saudi Arabia and Egypt should be especially wary, as they had preserved the interests of Jews and Christians by providing oil and access to the Arabian Penninsula.
In his statement he praised Nigerian Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, who has been accused of trying to blow up a passenger jet over the US city of Detroit on Christmas Day.
Abdulmutallab has admitted he was trained by al-Qaida in Yemen.  Email this story to a friend

A video posted on an Islamic Web site Monday showed the beheading of a man identified in the tape as American construction contractor Eugene Armstrong.
The killing was purportedly carried out personally by top terror suspect Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.
In Washington, a U.S. official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Armstrong’s body had been recovered, but the official would provide no information about where or when it had been found.
The taped beheading appears to be of Armstrong, but the CIA is still reviewing the tape to be sure, the official said.
The Tawhid and Jihad group, led by al-Zarqawi, had threatened to behead Armstrong, fellow American Jack Hensley and Briton Kenneth Bigley unless Iraqi women were released by Monday from two U.S.-controlled prisons, including the notorious Abu Ghraib facility.
A militant whose voice resembled al-Zarqawi read a statement in the video saying the next hostage would be killed in 24 hours unless all Muslim women prisoners were released.
In other major developments:
# Gunmen in Baghdad assassinated two clerics from a powerful Sunni Muslim group opposed to the U.S. presence in Iraq.
# U.S. warplanes struck in the insurgent stronghold of Fallujah, killing two people, while a car bomb in the north – the 32nd car bomb in Iraq this month – killed three people. Insurgents attacked a U.S. patrol, killing an American soldier, near Sharqat, 168 miles north of Baghdad.
# In the northern city of Mosul, a car packed with explosives blew up in a residential neighborhood, killing its driver and two people in a passing vehicle, police at Al-Salaam hospital said. Police had been searching for the vehicle, which was earlier reported stolen.
# Kidnappers released a group of 18 abducted Iraqi National Guard members over the weekend after renegade Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr called for their release, an al-Sadr aide told The Associated Press.
The 9-minute videotape was posted on a Web site used by Islamic militants. It showed a man seated on the floor, blindfolded and wearing an orange jumpsuit with his hands bound behind his back.
Five militants dressed in black stood behind the man, four of them armed with assault rifles, with a black Tawhid and Jihad banner on the wall behind them. The militant in the center read out a statement, as the hostage rocked back and forth and side to side where he sat.
After finishing the statement, the militant pulled a knife, rushed to the hostage from behind and cut his throat until the head was severed.
The victim gasped loudly as blood poured from his neck. His killer held up the head at one point, and placed the head on top of the body.
“The fate of the first infidel was cutting off the head before your eyes and ears. You have a 24-hour opportunity. Abide by our demand in full and release all the Muslim women, otherwise the head of the other will follow this one," the speaker said.
He appeared to indicate the hostages would be killed one at a time and did not specify whether Hensley or Bigley would be next.
The militant on the video called President Bush “a dog” and addressed him, saying, “Now, you have people who love death just like you love life. Killing for the sake of God is their best wish, getting to your soldiers and allies are their happiest moments, and cutting the heads of the criminal infidels is implementing the orders of our lord."
Tawhid and Jihad – Arabic for “Monotheism and Holy War” – has claimed responsibility for at least six hostages, including Armstrong and another American, Nicholas Berg, who was abducted in April. The group has also said it is behind a number of bombings and gun attacks.
Armstrong grew up in Hillsdale, Mich., but left the area around 1990. His work in construction took him around the world; he lived in Thailand with his wife before going to Iraq.
The other American hostage, Jack Hensley, 48, made his home in Marietta, Ga., with his wife ***** and their 13-year-old daughter. Kidnapped with the Americans was Briton Kenneth Bigley, 62. All three worked for Gulf Services Co. of the United Arab Emirates.
Armstrong’s slaying came on the heels of the beheading, apparently by another group of Sunni insurgents, of three Kurdish militiamen taken hostage in the north.
More than 135 foreigners have been kidnapped in Iraq, some for lucrative ransoms, and at least 26 of them have been executed. At least five other Westerners are currently being held hostage here, including an Iraqi-American man, two female Italian aid workers and two French reporters.
Despite the unrelenting violence, Prime Minister Ayad Allawi said Sunday that his interim government is determined “to stick to the timetable” of national elections, which are due by Jan. 31.
Last week, U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan warned there could not be “credible elections if the security conditions continue as they are now."

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) — As the date to transfer governing power from the U.S.-led coalition to the Iraqis gets closer, U.S. officials said they expect more attacks like the one that killed four American civilian contractors Wednesday in Fallujah.
U.S. officials said the civilians were killed in a grenade attack by suspected insurgents.
Afterward, residents cheered and pulled charred bodies from burning vehicles and hung them from a Euphrates River bridge.
Crowds gathered around the vehicles and dragged at least one of the bodies through the streets, witnesses said.
Residents pulled another body from one of the cars and beat it with sticks.
In 1993, similar television images of jubilant Somalis dancing on a downed Black Hawk helicopter and dragging the bodies of soldiers through Mogadishu undercut public support for what was intended to be a humanitarian mission.
The United States withdrew its troops from Somalia within a year.
But the Bush administration vows it will stay the course in Iraq even beyond the transfer of power set for June 30, and the military remains resolute.
“This is not going to stop us from doing our mission," said Brig. Gen. Mark Kimmitt, an Army spokesman. “In fact, it would be disgracing the deaths of these people if we were to stop our mission."
White House press secretary Scott McClellan called Wednesday’s incident in Fallujah “offensive” and “despicable," urging the media to act “responsibly in their coverage of it."
Five American soldiers also died Wednesday in a roadside bombing near Habbaniya, the U.S. military said.
The fatalities brought the U.S. military death toll in Iraq to 600, 408 of them in hostile action.
The four American civilians killed were employees of Blackwater Security Consulting, a U.S. government contractor providing security for food deliveries in Fallujah, the company said. (Full story)
A company statement said their exact identities were not yet known, but “our thoughts and prayers are with their families."
Witnesses of the incident said two Mitsubishi vehicles left a military base east of Fallujah to make their way into the city, about 30 miles (48 kilometers) west of Baghdad.
The vehicles turned onto a Fallujah street as men — whose faces were covered by head scarves — split into two groups and threw hand grenades at the cars, witnesses said.
The assailants then sprayed the burning cars with small-arms fire.
Video showed crowds chanting and cheering at the scene, with charred corpses hanging from the bridge over the Euphrates.
Fallujah is part of al Anbar province in the Sunni Triangle, a region north and west of the capital that has been a hotbed of opposition to the U.S. presence.
A changeover from the 82nd Airborne Division to the Marines is under way in al Anbar.
“There’s a small core element [in Fallujah] that doesn’t seem to get it," Kimmitt said. “They are desperate to try to hold out. They are desperate to try to turn back the hands of time, and that just isn’t going to happen."
Coalition Provisional Authority spokesman Dan Senor said those who exulted over the attack “are not people we are here to help. They are people who have a much different vision for the future of Iraq and the overwhelming majority of Iraqis."
In other violence Wednesday, two bodyguards for the governor of Diala province and three civilians were wounded in Baqubah, north of Baghdad, when an attacker pulled a car up beside the governor’s car and detonated a bomb, Kimmitt said.
The bomb damaged vehicles and a building, but the governor was unharmed, he said.
Three British troops were wounded, one seriously, by a makeshift bomb near Basra in southern Iraq, a British Defense Ministry spokesman said.
In northern Iraq, U.S. soldiers and Iraqi police detained 20 people Tuesday suspected of anti-coalition activities:
# Soldiers from the 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division and Iraqi police detained 10 people in Mosul. Iraqi police in Mosul also apprehended two people wanted in connection with a drive-by shooting.
# Soldiers from 5th Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment detained five suspects speeding away from the scene of a rocket attack in Hammam Al Alil near Mosul. The soldiers detained two suspects after searching door-to-door in Hammam Al Alil. Also in Hammam Al Alil, soldiers detained one suspect at a traffic control point.
The people your stumping for have no regard for life theres, yours or anyone elses.

I asked for PROOF. You have not provided it. I also said not to use the example of a few who have been punished for their crimes.
Show proof of a wide scale, tolerated system of torture, not random samples. So far, that has NOT been done.
And the use of UAVs is NOT illegal. As a matter of fact, I like it in that US military remain safe from harm while death will rain down on terrorist criminals.
