Karzai concerned capture of Taliban leader could destroy talks

The Afghan leader, Hamid Karzai, is said to be very angry over the capture of the Taliban's number two official in Pakistan.
The Afghan leader, Hamid Karzai, is said to be very angry over the capture of the Taliban's number two official in Pakistan.

Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar was captured in Pakistan last month, with the arrest embarrassing President Karzai due to recent discussions he had been having with Baradar about a peace treaty.

According to Afghan insiders, Karzai thought the capture, which had been assisted by US intelligence, could compromise ongoing talks at a three-day peace jirga next month.

The detention of Baradar, only second in the Taliban to one-eyed Mullah Mohammed Omar, has raised the question of whether the US really wants peace discussions with leaders who harboured the terrorists involved in the September 11 attacks on New York and Washington.

Baradar was nabbed last month in the Pakistan port city of Karachi as part of a crackdown in which other Afghan Taliban figures were captured by the Pakistan army on the border between the two countries.

Karzai had been embarking on possible reconciliation negotiations to end the eight-year war.

It is known that Mullah Omar resisted the offer of talks and that Baradar had to stand up to fierce opposition within his ranks to negotiate with the Afghanistan government.

Karzai angry with Pakistan and US over Taliban capture

Fools, Taliban won’t negotiate. If they do it is because they are attempting to catch Afghan Gov. off guard. Look at there past history, there will be no surrender or deal only death to the infidels and their supporters

America do not want peace in Afghanistan

The arrest of Mullah Baradar is another confirmation that US aims in Afghanistan are not fighting terrorism but another dirt hidden agenda and to prolong their presence. Baradar was in peace talk with Kabul government and this shows that America with the help of their illegitimate child Porkistan(Pakistan) want to keep Afghanistan in mess. If US really wanted to eliminate terrorism the real terrorists are in Pakistan and ISI of Porkistan is the number one base of terrorists. US should leave our country we know that if they leave Afghans will find a way to make peace. It is American who prevent us from achieving peace.

America play dirty game with Afghans

Again — America is not honest, if they really want to fight terrorism then they have to send troops to Porkistan(Pakistan) where are the terrorists epicenter and where ISI train and finance terrorists to fight against India and Afghanistan.

America still has to come to grips with the dishonesty of Pakistan.

Do you really think Pakistan is doing all this alone? Just look at all the other state sponsored terrorism from countries like Iran, Syria, Yemen, Nigeria, Somalia and Saudi Arabia Just to name a few. Jihadists being used to destabilize a country or region. The enemy of my enemy is my friend even if they are still my enemy. Gee now who could have thought that up? As a now famous or infamous black liberation theologian said :“Amerika The Chickenzzzzuha are coming home to roost." How right he was for his rants. It’s a shame people are so mired in religion or skin colour even now in 2010 the two biggest key dividers are race and religion.

America leaves and the fighting will get much much worse as the Taliban the different clans and the opposing mullahs all fight for power. The infighting will explode all over the country.

These people have been fighting someone.even themselves for hundreds of years,it isn’t logical to think that if america leaves they will turn peaceful.
