Argentina has decided to build a third nuclear plant by end of the year.
Argentina has decided to build a third nuclear plant by end of the year.

The third plant had been planned for some time, for completion in the first or second quarter of 2011.

The government will also finish new work on the Argentine-Paraguayan Yacyreta hydroelectric plant this year.

The two projects will eventually add 2,000 megawatts to the national power grid, to fix the power outages that have affected users in Buenos Aires.

The blackouts have affected millions of users in the country.
